Why do pictures look better before I get them printed??
Why do pictures look better before I get them printed??
I take lots of digital pictures and I think they look great on the camera and on the computer, then I get them printed as a 4×6 and they never look as good!! When I get them printed they look streched out and a little blury and the color is a little off!! When I get them printed it also looks like the pictures have been cut off a little bit on the edges and then streched to fit a 4×6!! Why does this happen and how can I fix it?? I take the pictures as a size Medium 2 (1600×1200) is that too big, too small, or the right size to get them printed as a 4×6?? I either get them printed on the kodak picture maker at walmart, at walmart.com, and on snapfish.com!! Thanks!! I am using a Cannon Powershot A400 Camera!!
Also after I get them printed on the Kodak Picture Maker and get them home and try to hang them up or frame them they get “Scraches” in them, how can I preven the “Scraches”??
The sensor in your camera has a 4:3 ratio. The 4×6 photos can be directly printed with cameras who’s sensors have a 2:3 ratio … like all Nikon and Canon DSLR’s and 35mm cameras.
You will need to crop your images to the size you want them to be printed. Remember to save the new file as some other name.
There should be a cropping tool on the program that came with your camera.
Oops, I forgot one thing. Is your monitor calibrated?
There may be some contrast, brightness and colour differences between what you see on your monitor and the actual print if you have not calibrated the monitor …
There are some software solutions to this, but the best come from gretag macbeth or something similar.
